Collect DAM issue #15 - “FLUX U” - a Fluxus inspired influencer kit
For this DAM issue culturehacker pays homage to the Fluxus art movement. He's created “FLUX U: an influencer Fluxkit" consisting of 3 artifacts and 3 scores. The issue holds up a mirror to influencer culture and was co-authored with ChatGPT which culturehacker trained on a series of "how to be an influencer'' articles and posts. The result is a satirical look at what it takes to be an influencer in Web3. Fluxkits were a staple of the Fluxus art movement. Each kit contained artifacts (pieces of art intended to provoke) and scores (instructional prompts intended to ignite the imagination).
See below for details on how to collect
Collecting this issue helps support DAM’s mission
All proceeds from DAM single issue #15 go to supporting the DAM physical project (inspired by Fluxus’ mail art) which will have artists creating and shipping physical pieces of art to each other. Ever artist builds upon the work of another as the work makes its way around world eventually culminating in a collective IRL/virtual gallery show and performance in 2024.

Artist Statement
"For my DAM single, I decided to pay homage to Fluxus. The art movement has been an inspiration to me since I discovered it in high school. What draws me to Fluxus is the fact that it was established as an anti-art movement. In many ways, Fluxus is analogous to what's going on with decentralized technology. From immersive experiences, shops, zines, kits, mail art, to experimental housing collectives, Fluxus was multifaceted and experimental – a decentralized network that blurred the line between artist and audience.”
My DAM single entitled “FLUX U” pays homage to core elements found with Fluxus such as kits (a collection of accessible art objects) and scores (instructional prompts designed to ignite the imagination). The text and prompts found in this issue are a collaboration with ChatGPT. I wanted to embrace the irony of a machine providing steps/guidance to becoming a successful influencer in Web3.
About Fluxus
“Together with festivals, street actions, and musical events, artists’ editions played an essential role in Fluxus, a network of artists that emerged in the early 1960s in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Fluxus Editions, an ambitious publishing program conceived by artist and designer George Maciunas—a central figure in the group—comprises affordable items made in multiples and intended to communicate the group’s ideas and activities on an international scale. Dozens of Fluxus Editions were produced, including collective anthologies, or “yearboxes,” and works by individual artists, often inventively constructed for mailing. Reflecting an interdisciplinary and playful approach, many editions incorporate instruction scores, film loops, audio recordings, games, puzzles, and documentation from the group’s extensive program of performance concerts—some called Fluxfests. Composer John Cage’s experiments with sound and chance operations resonated with this community of young artists, as did Marcel Duchamp’s readymades and Constructivism’s emphasis on the integration of art and life.”
What’s a DAM single?
DAM singles are curated monthly editions of the zine. Each DAM single is curated by a “single” artist on chain. This could be dedicated to an art movement, another artist, or the release of a completely new body of work. The work within a DAM single is a mix of pieces specifically made for the issue.
culturehacker and lowbrow will be doing the first two DAM singles. From there the community will help to curate future artists. Proceeds from DAM singles are at the discretion of the artist - meaning they can determine if the funds go to them, are split with a charity and/or a portion comes back to DAM. In the end the artist has full control and ownership of their work. Each DAM single is created, designed, laid out and minted directly by the artist.
Our first DAM single is created & curated by DAM co-founder culturehacker. Here’s what culturehacker has to say about the issue.
